Item Description
10x14". Hand colored print features portraits with names below of "John C. Fremont/The Republicans Choice For President And/WM. L. Dayton Vice-President From 1857 to 1861." Caption at bottom reads "Grand National Republican Banner/Free Labor, Free Speech, Free Territory." Printer's notation at bottom in tiny lettering reads "Entered According To Act Of Congress In The Year 1856 By N.Currier In The Clerk's Office Of The District Court Of The Southern Dist. Of N.Y./Lith. & Pub. By N. Currier 152 Nassau St. N.Y." Illustration above portrait shows US flags, eagle, lady "Liberty." Image below portrait depicts farm scene with farmer and horse-drawn plow. Tanned all over but the only stains are on the margins, primarily top and right. Image area has strong color and no stain. Tiny chip off bottom left corner, very minor. Would mat to excellent appearance.
