Item Description
Publication's full title is "Broughton's Monthly Planet Reader And Astrological Journal." Each is 6x9" with stitch holes on spine from once being bound. They average about 12 pages each and are in sequence as Vol. 1 #5 August 1, 1860 through Vol. 1 #8 November 1, 1860. Front of each shows the candidate. First page inside the cover of each has two articles covering about a full page titled, "Presidential Election" and the other "Nativity Of Hon. (candidate specific to that issue)." Douglas and Johnson have 1-2" split of cover along spine plus 1.75" tear on lower left corner of Lincoln. Last two pages of Lincoln are loose. The Breckenridge cover is loose from the other pages. The Bell has extra cover sheet over the cover that matches the design of the other three. Overall, preserved remarkably well. Each issue contains added text on astrology and phrenology.
