Item Description
2.5x3.25". ©1938. ACC# R69-2. A total of 288 cards were issued in the all-time classic non-sport issue. Each card front has choice full color art w/often incredibly violent and intense graphics depicting the ravages of conflict and other war settings, with detailed text on the reverse. There are also two types of promotional backs, the pre-printed text found on this and the following lot as well as "Lucky" ink stamp backs found in the three lots after that. The pre-printed cards were done for #s 49-72 and scarcer 97-120. Promo text notes "1000 Cash Prizes To The 1000 Children Who Send Us The Neatest Lists Of 240 Correct Titles." Obviously done prior to the set expansion of 288 cards. Cards run between #51 and #72. The CGC grades breakdown as follows: 3.5 VG+ (1), 3 VG (1), 2.5 Good+ (3), 2 Good (4), 1 Poor (1), AU (1).
